New! Geospatial Content + RSS Aggregation = Goodness

Whoa…all I can say for now. Been cranking away this week. Some of the stuff that caught my eye in the last day or so. Many thanks to Andy Hudson-Smith at Digital Urban for the posting about Edushi.com on BlinkGeo Stories. This is an impressive RIA that has given me much food for thought.

I hope everyone is having a swell week.

First things first. Though I am not a Mac person (yet), I got a kick out of this Mac commercial (see below):

A nice new data source: EPA Displays Air Quality Information in Google Earth. I have to say I am a little confused though…aren’t they supposed to be using Virtual Earth to disseminate their data?

BBC News has additional coverage on how the American Association of Science is using satellite imagery to track human rights abuses in Burma. [Read more…]

Wow.  This has been a crunched week/weekend for me.  Haven’t had much of a chance to post any new/original thoughts in a while, but I hope to articulate some things I have been mulling later this week.  In the meantime, enjoy some links to content that caught my attention in the last few days.

Mother Jones Magazine has an insightful article on Traffic.com, including some jarring statistics about the Navteq subsidiary, such as the fact that it was awarded over  $50 million in sole source government contracts.  Can you say pork and barrel at the same time?
